The contract covers five 400 kV lines totaling 700 km and has an option to expand toward national coverage of 5500 km by the end of 2025. The project affects how grid capacity is calculated and managed, unlocking flexibility and efficiency without building new infrastructure.

Gridraven’s software-only solution increases grid capacity while eliminating the need for hardware or sensor installations on grid assets. It provides high-accuracy transmission capacity forecasts through precision weather forecasting based on detailed topography data and advanced AI modeling, achieving precision even in challenging terrains. This enables TSOs like Fingrid to operate their power grid closer to physical limits with full transparency and safety, optimizing existing grid assets for a more efficient and resilient energy system. This precision weather forecasting-based Dynamic Line Rating technology promises to unlock up to 30% additional power annually from the existing grid.
Beyond its grid-enhancing impact, the technology boosts economic growth by enabling more renewable energy integration and reducing infrastructure investment needs.
