Gridraven and AST Launch DLR Pilot to Enhance Renewable Energy Integration in Latvia

Gridraven has partnered with AST, Latvia’s transmission system operator, to conduct a Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) pilot on a single 110 kV transmission line in a forested area. The initiative aims to evaluate how DLR technology can optimize grid capacity to support a greater share of renewable energy in Latvia’s power system.

By implementing DLR with span-level resolution, Gridraven enables real-time monitoring of the line’s capacity, adapting to environmental conditions to maximize efficiency. This pilot is a key step toward integrating more renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, into Latvia’s grid, contributing to a sustainable energy future.
