Dynamic ratings on Estonia's full network

Gridraven is working with Elering, the Estonian TSO, on a full-network DLR pilot covering 5500 km of 110 kV and 330 kV lines.

Dynamic ratings on Estonia's full network

Full-network DLR pilot

Gridraven has partnered with Elering, Estonia’s transmission system operator, to conduct a pioneering Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) pilot across Elering’s entire network. This initiative aims to explore how DLR technology can enhance grid capacity to support Estonia’s ambitious goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030.

Boosting all lines, including 110 kV

By implementing DLR with span-level resolution, Gridraven is enabling real-time monitoring and optimization of transmission line capacities, including 110 kV lines in forested areas. To ensure accuracy, eight weather stations have been installed for validation, providing critical data to maximize the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward a sustainable energy future, leveraging advanced technology to meet Estonia’s renewable energy targets efficiently.
